Electroforming...
So I got the January 2010 issue of Art Jewelry mag, and their is an article in there about electroforming. It sounds really interesting and fun! You can practically almost plate anything, either organic or non-organic with copper. It takes a couple of hours to complete the process but the result is a spitting image of your original piece! In the article the artist electroformed a seed pod and then made some earrings out of them. If you don't have art jewelry mag, you should subscribe, their lots of great techniques and tutorials in there!
I hope to someday try this technique.

Wild Atlantic Salmon!
I just put the fish into the oven. You can tell the difference between the wild versus the farm raised salmon, the color on the wild is a red/pink color, and the farm raised is a pink. I haven't had wild salmon in years! I remember back when I used to live in WA state, we used to go fishing and caught salmon, that was fun. I am also in the process of making rice and asparagus for the meal also. Maybe a salad too. Then we gotta eat, once hubby comes home from work, and then off to the gym!

Thai green curry
So far today I went to school, came home, called real estate people about apartments for rent, and left a message, and am now defrosting chicken, I am gonna attempt to make this Thai green curry. There is a recipe on the back that sounded tasty, I got the ingredients for it yesterday, its called Thai ginger chicken & cashew nuts. Hubby is at work for some extra $$, we need it, plus they asked him to come in, so he should be done with this in a half hour or so, so I better get cooking!

I need to go to the bead store!
I am really running low on all my beads, I really need to go to the bead store! But my husband and I are going to be moving though down to PA in two weeks and I really don't have money to spend on beads, need that for moving. I hope there will be some bead stores around or rock stores, but it doesn't look like there are, its in the state college vicinity. Might have to buy online. hmmm.....

Etsy Artisan Interview for March!
WakingBearStudio
1., How did you find Etsy? A friend of ours who is a potter mentioned Etsy to us during the time we were having a Holiday Openhouse. We thought we would try it out!
2., How did you get into the craft/artwork that you do now? I have been painting and drawing since I was 7 years old. After attending college, I graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and English. Right around the time I turned 30, someone gave me an oxyacetylene torch set and I started cutting up old car parts. The very first piece I made was an angel in memory of my second oldest sister who died before she turned 40. I am also an artist in residence for the PA council of the Arts and have been an active teaching artist for them for almost 15 years.
3., What inspires you? I am inspired by nature, my pets and my dreams!
4., Who is your fav. artist? My favorite artist is an artist named Franz Marc. I love his form of animals and color that leads to abstract art but is still recognizable. I also love the Impressionist artists.

Etsy shop interview of the month for Feb!
Interview with CubicleMonkey
1. How did you find Etsy?
Well, I found it a few years ago actually, before I even got into card making and paper crafts. But I have to give credit where it is due, my good friend Amy brought Etsy back to my attention after she opened her store www.notmoira.etsy.com. She is hilarious!
2. How did you get into the craft/artwork thta you do now?
Again, thanks to a friend! As you can see by my etsy name, I am a cube monkey by day, and a former coworker started selling a line of stamping products. She needed some help getting her business off the ground, so I had her come to my place to host a small party. That party opened my eyes to the world of paper crafts!
3. What inspires you?
I am inspired by the independence and freedom that crafting allows. With the line of 8-5 work I am in, I don't get much room at ALL for freedom or creativity, and knowing that I can come home at the end of a day, sit in my office at home, surrounded by all the materials that I have amassed over time, and create whatever I want with no restrictions is the most inspirational thing! Even if I don't sell anything, just releasing my pent up creativity is enough for me!
4. Who is your favorite artist?
I don't necessarily have a favorite crafting artist, although, I have long considered my mother to be the Martha Stewart of the South (I am from Alabama), and she has always amazed me with her craftiness! She helped me bring the vision of my wedding to life about 3 years ago, and it just blew me away what we were able to do when we combined our talents. She is amazing. But as far as paper crafts go, there are hundreds of amazing card makers on Etsy that I am discovering daily, and I am enjoying the variety of art that can come from something as simple as a card.

Etsy shop of the month interveiw-randomcreative
http://www.randomcreative.etsy.com
1., How did you find Etsy? One of my friends introduced me to Etsy after she saw me searching for buttons to buy online. She has a friend who sells on it and thought it would appeal to me.
2., How did you get into the craft/artwork that you do now? I've always loved beads but never did much with them besides stringing before this summer. A lot of my inspiration came from all of the wonderful jewelry that I saw on Etsy. I also saw a few pieces that I loved during a visit to the Amana Colonies (http://www.amanacolonies.com). I decided to challenge myself to learn how to make more interesting beaded jewelry. My inspiration from button bracelets came purely from all of the neat button creations that I saw on Etsy.
3., What inspires you? My fellow Etsy artists continue to be a source of inspiration. I love almost all colors and am constantly inspired by different color combinations that I see. I also love looking through jewelry instruction books for inspiration.
4., Who is your fav. artist? The two Etsy artists who have inspired me more than anybody else are Carol (http://sandfibers.etsy.com) and MaryLou (http://time2cre8.com).
